Two tennis racquets and some kite string? Jeff, I'm offended by your deliberate and insensitive use of the word "kite." Sure, I wrote a bad check to pay for my high school yearbook, but that was a long time ago. I'm a different man now. Ask anyone! Well, not anyone.

That is the tentative date, I've confirmed that with Chris Simpson who's the operations manager for Tim these days. I'll check with him in early March to make sure that it's not going to change and put an update here to let everyone know. P

Did you do Peak 5621 , Garmin says 5492 google earth says 5621, your peak North of Rattlesnake is higher and higher than the one Myles says is the highest in the Hills. Now the down climb!!!

Yes, I believe that Byzantine jumble of boulders just NW of Rattlesnake is the highest in the Hills. My notes say I climbed it on 3 May 2012. Some maps show an elevation figure on the west side, but the true summit is one of the boulders on the east side. 1,740+ meters, according to my contour map. I stood on four candidates because I couldn’t tell which was highest. Tall, smooth boulders. Indeed, my descent far exceeded my adventure budget for the day. Myles, you still owe me a penny.

You make it look so easy.
Will that be part of the Portal to Hills Hike next month?

Well that would be nice, stroll down the pebbled path, and again class 2 . I found a canyon that links the middle of the Western area and starts/ends around the Tall wall ,saves the road walk to the north joining the single track and back to the Arch trail.Of course I did this once and don't recall how I started or ended but have faith the bread crumbs will assist .For some reason a faint trail leads into the canyon , about half way ends at what may be a new climbing area but I couldn't see ladders or stools.

Thanks for the past 6 years we have always had a great group. See everyone on Baldy May 19,

If you have any problems getting signed up for the WPSMB team and/or your donation does not appear on the WPSMB page please post back here. Or you can ask Crowdrise directly here: https://support.crowdrise.com/hc/en-us/requests/newDonations are not required to register and join the WPSMB team. But they go a long way in giving toward a very good cause. When you donate $100 or more you can collect the Heroes poker chips at each camp and at the summit then trade them in for cool swag at the bottom (lunch, t-shirts, all kinds of neat stuff).

Okay, here's the deal, just to help minimize confusion (because Crowdrise won't).
When you sign up, and they ask your for your credit card (the first time) that's to cover your "commitment" to fund raise. You don't get billed, they keep it on file in case you don't come up with the minimum as agreed to before the event. (So just because you gave them your card, that doesn't mean you've paid anything.)
After you've gone through the registration, it shows that you've "purchased" "tickets" for "$0.00" (Of course, why not?)
Now you have to go and "Donate" to the person you're supporting (yourself) and go to a different screen to put in your credit card a second time. It's this second time that actually dings your card, and you pay. Then you'll see that you've paid and you're on the team and everything is super hunky dory.
(4 out of 5 marmots agree: Crowdrise is run by marmots....)

Thanks Jeff!
Where in this process do they select to join the WPSMB team?
I was wondering why my credit card had nibbles on it, darn marmots.

Just before (or after, or in between) the second payment, you're asked to "Join a Team" or do something else. It was pretty obvious. It's more about the confusion of going through the CC process the first time and then---Congrats! You've just done a step in a process that has no bearing on anything and could've been simplified in a dozen different ways!
In the grand scheme, if this is our only battle to support the vets, then it's a no-brainer.
