Kim and I headed up to Cottonwood Lakes and Mt. Langley on August 1st for a 3-day acclimatization hike in preparation for our attempt on Whitney’s Mountaineer’s Route later in the week.

We met Mark and Sandy on the trail to Old Army Pass and spent the day hiking up Langley with them. Our lesson for the day was: when in doubt, go straight up!
