I summited on 8/23, and the weather was perfect. The weather at the summit was: 50 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, and not even a breeze. I could have done the entire hike in shorts and a t-shirt.
The only thing that went wrong was that a marmot stole my food bag while we were on the summit.
Our group was sitting on a rock, admiring the vista, and since there wasn't enough room for us and our stuff, I had my boots and food back on another rock by my feet. After a while I head what I thought was something being dragged across the rocks. When I looked down, my food was gone. A marmot has sneaked up in the crevice between the rocks and snagged my food. I wasn't the first one to make this mistake. I looked between the rocks, and saw lots of food and other stuff.
I knew that I needed to keep my food close. I just didn't know how close.
