I've been living up there since before the official opening in May... and haven't gained any weight (although I've been having a hard time losing the "winter weight" this year (although that might be because I'm not exercising AT ALL this summer)). Occasionally, I stop at Subway...

If you don't bring any food up, you don't have to worry about bears breaking into your vehicle and don't have to worry about finding storage space in the "too few" bear lockers up there.

I'm still not bored with what isn't a limited menu.

I'm heading up on Saturday....I might actually have to stop by the portal store and get a cheeseburger. In the 5 times I have been at the portal, I have never eaten at the portal store.

and no damn bears better try to take the burger out of my hands when I'm not looking!!!!

If you tire of the food at the portal you can always grab a bagel and a cup of coffee at the Starbucks on the summit.

Tom:

You'll be in for a treat, the cheeseburgers are great. If you are really hungry, like after coming off off the mountain, treat yourself to a mooseburger. Along with a couple of cold beers, you can't go wrong.

Mike,
oh, I'm planning on it. I'm hoping that I have time to go to the portal on Saturday before I head to horseshoe meadows to acclimate.
