When I was heading toward the big boulder you go past from LBSL to UBSL, I noticed a use trail heading up above the boulder, and it looked like it kept heading up. If anyone knows the trail I am talking about, I am curious about where it heads. If it does keep going up the only thing I can figure from the topo is that it heads in a round-about way toward Thor?

Do you mean this boulder?

There are some climbing routes on that northeast flank of Thor, but the "trail" that you're referring to is from countless wayward souls...

How's the weather in Santa Barbara?

yup, that's the rock; great photo, perfect view of the sad fate of the wayward. And there were cairns popping up all over the place like mushrooms. Thanks for the illumination. As for the weather here, well, early morning fog, and perfect days, boring boring boring; I have got to get outta here :-)

Head up to Camino Cielo---it was already 90 degrees when I ran Tunnel at 10 this morning. (Almost felt like Lone Pine...ha ha!)

Well, I sure fell for that one; how's the weather here, huh? As it happens I was up on Arlington Ridge this morning around 6, and it was already pretty warm. The marine layer ended right at the Mission. Lone Pine looks to be a bit toastier, but the Portal sure looks perfect. I can almost taste a burger, fries and a beer. And it sounds like there is some good bear watching to be had now too.
