A beautiful day to go up the MR. Warm and no wind. September can give great weather for climbing! Started out from the portal at 0600. Tried to take detailed pictures of the route. Took north side short cut to the EB ledges. Many photos of the ledges. Arrived at Iceberg at 0840. Topped out at 1015. Again tried to take many photos of the chute above Iceberg and the final 400'. Descended down the main trail. There were many day and overnight permits available for Friday. Many walk-in campsites available as well.
You can see the photos here.
Here is a shot of the approach above Iceberg Lake. --Steve

Really nice shots chronicle the hike. Thanks for sharing your experience. How long was the ascent/descent?

Those are great pics, but what's up with 6, 7 and 9? You really have to cross that?? smile

Thanks for the nice comments. My ascent/descent time was 4:15/3:15 for a total hike time of 7:30. This doesn't include 45 min on the summit and 15 min at trail crest to change into shorts. I left the portal at 0600 and arrived back at 1430.

Yes, you do cross the thin part shown in pics 6,7, and 9. It's really not bad and saves stream crossings and bushwacking through the thick brush on the regular trail.
