I have traveled up 395 my entire life for one reason or another (backpack the sierras, ski Mammoth or Tahoe, etc.)In all my trips, due to my lifelong obsession with the Sierras, I always look and pay attention to the West. Only in the last couple of years , have I started looking East on my drive up 395. I went online to learn a little more about it and was surprised to find that not only are the White Mtns the home of the oldest trees in the world (Bristlecone Pine National Forest), but also have a 14'er (White Mtn. peak). The East ridge is quickly becoming a new obsession for me and I cant help wonder what Mt. Whitney, the whole Sierra range, as well as the great basin to the East, must look like from White Mtn. peak. My question is this. Does anyone out there in webland have any pictures of the sierras taken from the White Mtns? If so, and you could post them on this board, I would be thankful.
