Hi Mark. Me and some friends are going to do a day climb on the 16th. We are going to get to the portal on the 15th. Camp there the day then climb Sat and then back for the night and leave Sunday. If nothing else feel free to join us.
Bill.

Mike, Shin and Me on the summit of Mt. Whitney for number 100.

Thanks everybody! It was a small, intimate group of fine friends that headed up the Main Trail on a BEAUTIFUL day (could have been another summer ascent (except for the waist deep shocked snow we encountered all over the mountain).

Tracie joined us at the Portal Store with dessert.

Earlene presented me with a custom artwork Whitney In A Day shirt.

Shin gave me more beer (100 cans) than I can drink in a lifetime.

Shin agreed to become my Accountant because I'm going back to not counting any more. We'll meet at a fine Lone Pine establishment on the weekend day closest to 10.10 every year and he'll update me on where I am.

Mike climbed with me and took it easy on me even though he's still sick. (I may not be too happy about this if I pick it up!)

And lastly, Doug told me he refrained from making an announcement on the board because it's only me and it might stir up more controversy on the board if he started braggin obout my accomplishment.

Lots of photos to follow. Probably up by Wednesday.

Dang Shin…100 beers!
You could have gotten him a 100 bags of Cheetos…at least he could easily eat those in just a few months grin

Richard,

Your accomplishment of scoring 100 summits is truly unbelievable and something many of us could only dream about ever achieving.

You bring a new meaning to the word Ironman.......

Hi So when you look at the past year the board members have done some good work Laura doing the Sierra Challange, Richard the 100, Bob P doing the double up the mountaineers route Jack and Betsy making a food run over to Rob in the Park and the list is endless of first timers that reached some part of the trail if not the summit but was able to share the experience with the board .

Ok that guy in the picture behind the picture of Richard Shin and Mike is he using a wagbag???

Thanks for another day with the group. Thanks Doug

You know - if you had brought just one part up on each of your trips up the mountain, that darn tram would be built by now..

Sheesh..all that wasted room in your pack on McGriddle's and pizza..

Congrats anyway.. wink
