Hey guys,
I havent posted here in a few months. Hope all is well.

We Idahoans are thinking about trekking down to Cali again this summer......backpacking/hiking in Yosemite.

Do you have a favorite book that outlines hikes/climbs/etc in the park???

While not a book, this site has a pretty good desciption of a lot of hikes in Yosemite. Nothing technical though.

Two--non-technical: Marc Soares' 100 Hikes in Yosemite

And then of course Secor's book (Chapters 13 and 14) for technical: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0898869...ader_0898869714

I second the Schaffer book...my first hiking book ever! On my third copy...this book got me excited about hiking in Yosemite just by reading it! Planned my first backpacking trips ever using this book. Very descriptive.

One of the Yosemite books I like to use is:

"Hiking Yosemite National Park" by Suzanne Swedo

I have hiked & backpacked quite a few of the trails found in the book and found the descriptions to be accurate and easy to follow. Trails vary from easy to very strenuous (something for everybody).
