On Monday, February 28th at 7:30 AM (Pacific Time) I will be interviewed live on The Dennis Miller Show. To listen to it on the radio go to his website and find your local radio channel and air-time by selecting "Radio Channel Finder." Or you can listen to it live on your computer by clicking the Dennis Miller Show link shown below, once on his homepage click the “Listen Live Now”

Monday is Rare Disease Day USA and that is the banner I held on the summit of Everest for Rare Disease Day 2010. For Rare Disease Day 2011 I have another picture in a totally different environment. I will post on my website on Monday. Check it out - it's very funny!

Thanks Cindy for the heads up.
Hope you have your low-altitude facial appearance.

Different eye disease, but I saw Erik Weihenmayer in person last night at a 900 person fund raiser for Scouts here in Richmond VA

Unbelievable, but he had personally signed 900 books, one for each person. Maybe he did it while bored and stormbound on Everest and the Seven Summits.

Hi Cindy,

I'll try to remember to listen Monday night. I live in Orange County, CA so my best bet is to listen to you Monday night at 8:00 p.m. on KRLA. Geez, I remember when KRLA was the 'hot' rock-n-roll station to listen to when I was a teenager.

Cindy, are you getting many donations on your website towards the cure of the rare eye disease you have, I sure hope so. I still need to make a donation myself.

I'm looking forward to your interview with Dennis Miller. I see him on Fox (O'Reilly) once in a while. I remember when he was on Saturday Night Live, at least I think that's the show he use to be on a long time ago.

Thanks for the heads-up on your interview,
Lynn

Dennis has been on so many TV shows, movies, and HBO special it makes my head spin.

The disease I have effects my eyes but it is trying to destory my whole body. It's called Wegener's Granulomatosis: no cause and no cure.

I can't track the donations because the link goes directly to the Vasculitis Foundation website and they collect the donations. Because they are a qualified charity, any money donated you get to write-off on your taxes smile

Cindy,
great interview! I love that you want to go on Survivor. I have sent in a few audition tapes...nary a response yet.

It truly is amazing that you were able summit with only a couple of years of training.

and that you can say Wegener's granulomatosis without tripping over your tongue.

Thanks! You know I have learned a lot about the strength within me over the past few years. I look back at Everest and still find it difficult to believe that I did that - really. It was hard!

I listened to the interview last night. You were better than I thought you could be. Sounded so relaxed, poised and truly 'yourself'. You nailed it!!! Even threw in some humor. laugh o.k. ... Next?!.

MC, thanks and I am blushing!!!!

What's next - well, for Rare Disease Day 2010 I summited Everest and for Rare Disease Day 2011 I took the banner underwater and a dolphin came by and read it (I almost ran out of air trying to get that picture!) And I was interviewed by Dennis Miller.

So what can I do for next year? AND Rare Diseaese Day is offically the last day in Feb and next year is leap year so it will be really RARE.

I'd like to take the banner to the moon but I do have limits smile
