For those of us who were unable to participate in the MR Climb last week (or those who want to go again); Is there any interest in getting a group together for the weekend of the 16th?

Hey Sphazo, Dolbybear here, I might be up for a highspeed-lowdrag- leave at 0200 AM kind of hike early friday morning because I don't feel like carrying anything. The lower elevations could take some work with warmer weather. I'm guessing our fellow hikers are heeding the wise counsel concerning the section below lower boyscout being dangerous secondarily to a maze of snow bridges or maybe no bridges at this point, and avalanche dangers. With that being said... I would love to try and tackle the"maze" and the summit.
“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.” Helen Keller.

I've only climbed Mt. Whitney twice in the last six months and really should get back up there (since I supposedly like winter climbing more than summer), but I'm just having too much fun on the motorcycle on the low-elevation peaks of the far southern Sierra (as long as the ticks stay away from me) (you should have seen how muddy I got last Saturday) ...
Thanks Forest Service for cutting so many millions of miles of roads up there.

Yeah, but the mud will dry out as the temps climb towards triple digits. Then the High Sierra will be a welcome relief...
Besides:
1. In two weekends, WPS may be open... 2. which means you'd be able to drive all the way to the Portal... 3. quotas will not be in effect yet... (at least for Fri-Sat) 4. The danger in the lower part of the NF drainage will probably be gone (assuming no more storms) and you'll probably be able to climb the E-ledges... 5. you'll get to experience the true Whitney Circus Experience that the last weekend before quotas has become (I'd guess nearly 100 people on the MR)
In other words, I'm suggesting a change in date...

Would like to go this weekend but am busy too. The last Friday in April sounds like a great day for a Whitney dayhike.
