Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

Ueli Steck is superhuman. The stuff he does is beyond amazing. He is now in the Himalayas and just successfully climbed Shisha Pangma. He is now on his way to Cho Oyu.

Richard I'm still amazed at you and Rick's time's up Baldy on your 4 summit day. 1hr and 37 min for your first time up is awesome. Shin and I, are best time last year was 1hr 57min...

Hi Jeff,
Don't forget Richard P. and Rick Kent were at their cruising speed,60-70% of of their full speed. We were at our RED zone speed and our 2nd run was their 4th or 5th run of the day.
Their internal parts are upgraded and finely tuned. GigaMike's leg may have special built in suspension automatically adjust to the terrain.

Let's not look at the summit,it will discourage you more that anything else. As long as my foot moves forward, I am very happy with that.

I was about to say that I told RK that he needed to throttle back because we had a few more times up to the summit to go...

I've also done it faster than that while on my own, but can't find the note regarding what the time was. I'm guessing somewhere under 1:30.

Yes.

Another interesting time from that day was EK doing sub-2 for his third round-trip. That kid is FAST! He finished 4 summits with us and he had started (like) 4 hours later!

Hi James,
I know that you can do it only if you are few more years younger. It's all relative. You are 200% faster than most of the people at your age sitting on the couch. May be 300%. You get up(100%),walk(200%),and run(300%). -- Joking.

Shin you are too kind. Fast is also relative. And I could easily say the same for you my friend. I've eaten your dust before. cool

I enjoy a good couch sitting like the next guy. grin

I guess my typical 4 hrs up is even slower than I thought when my seniors can do it 2x as fast.
