ONE) For Langley and / or Willy, 2 that I need to do on my 14er list (and maybe Corcoran or Le Conte), do I just need the usual wildnerness permit? I heard Williamson is not not closed (or regulated)

AND TWO) If after Le Conte before 6/1 or 5/31 I ended up in the Whitney Zone, should I have done anything different?

Before heading to Langley, check with the Inyo County Road Department. Horseshoe Meadows Road is currently closed, and they don't know when it's going to be open. We were planning to attempt Langley on May 14-15, but now we're looking at alternatives.

If being unable to drive up to the Horseshoe Meadows/Cottonwood Lakes TH is an issue during the next few weeks, consider a climb of Langley via the NE Couloir. The drive involves Granite View Drive toward the Tuttle Creek TH. Richard P did it around May 1, 2010 and has an excellent TR with photos for guidance. (Try to retrieve the TR from this website or http://piotrowski.smugmug.com.)

Thanks Mesc and Jim - you changed my mind - I think I'll do Langley in June or July. Think I might go farther south and try Olancha - and then maybe go with my original plan of Shorty's Well to Telescope Peak (if I can do all that in 4 days incl. drive time 5/27-5/30) - Thanks for the advice - Tony B.
