Cindy, congratulations on the book publishing! I just ordered it. The line "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain" really touched me, and I look forward to reading about your amazing adventure and story.

I hope you enjoy the book. It came straight from my core being and I had to relive some tough stuff to write it.

Cindy, with the recent talk of Everest, I remembered that I never posted regarding your book... it was wonderful!!

Not only was your story so amazing in all that you overcame and accomplished, but it was so informative regarding the actual process of climbing Everest. Although I'd certainly heard of the different camps (base camp, and camps 1, 2, 3, and 4), I never realized that they weren't hiked consecutively, but in an “up and down” order with increasing altitude to facilitate acclimation. It was so very interesting.

I look forward to hearing about your upcoming Alaskan dog-sledding adventure. You are an inspiration. Brava!

Thanks Rosabella! I tried to write the book to be information to many audiences while still maintaining their interest. It's tough to write about rare diseases and mountain climbing.

I finally finished the book over the weekend. (I was never much of a speed reader). Having spoken to you (Cindy) about this expedition since you've been back I learned a lot about it from you, but the book brought forth much more detail than I could have imagined. Your descriptive writing abilities brought me, at times, to having a very clearer picture of what you were seeing as you described locations and directions.
Thanks for a good book.

Thanks Bob!

Never in my wildist dreams could I have imagined writing a book -let alone one on summiting Mt. Everest. But after I started giving My Journey Powerpoint presentations, I realized that it revealed only the tip-of-the-iceberg: so I wrote the book.

I had two goals:

1. To give people details about what it felt like to climb Everest.

2. To show people the importance of living life to its fullest, no matter what the obstacles.

During that three-year period, I experienced some of the most difficult and most rewarding moments in my life.

See you on The Hill smile

Shin was kind enough to let me borrow his SIGNED copy of your book (cool that you signed it on the Baldy photo page!) and I finished it off last night.

Good read and congratulations again on a fine climb and a fine story!

I thought of you as I was reading e-mail this morning:

If you haven't heard, Cindy is up in Alaska training for the Iditarod.

I was looking for Kurt's Whitney Part 2, but remembered he's heading to the Big E in a few weeks...

Did see that Cindy is doing her presentation again at A16 in early May...

Cindy was interviewed on the Dennis Miller radio show yesterday... Raising Flags to Raise Awareness. She discusses the upcoming Iditarod. Click here.
