I am going up to Whitney this next Thursday for the 2nd time. I cannot seem to find any specific info. on the trail conditions. I know this was a high rain/snow year. I have read that since that last rain storm a few weeks ago the some of the trail near mirror lake is "difficult to find."
Anyone out there who hiked recently that good give me some insight?
Thanks so much!

i was there on 8/11/11 and only a small part (20 yards)of the trail leaving mirror lake is hard to follow. of course the trail from mirror to trailside meadow is hard to follow anyways

We hiked the trail for the first time on 8/1. We had no trouble finding the trail including the section near Mirror Lake.

I was just there last weekend the 12th-14th. The trail is in good condition, thanks to the trail crew. the only thing that was different than last year is there is alot of water. all the water crossings are easy to pass. alot of water flowing on the lower switchbacks. the cables are clear of snow and ice. the approach to the summit has a patch of snow that has a channel through it. Anyone there that weekend see Nacho Libre on the trail? we ran into him on the backside, what a spirit lifter.
