Awesome! I've been thinking about pretty much the same trip for about 4 years but always end up on the east side. I've been in the Mineral King area backpacking once. Gotta get back. How many days was your trip? How was is getting over Glacier Pass? Easy route finding? I was thinking an out and back M.K.-Sawtooth Peak-Glacier Pass-Mt.Kaweah then back. A loop I guess is always best because you see more "stuff." Thanks for the photos.

smile ScreeSweet! Beautiful views of the east from the west, Jim. I know getting into the Kaweah's has been on your to-do list for a while. Must have felt great to finally play around up there. Question: Did you traverse/scramble that ridge in the photo to tag the Sawtooth summit? If it's solid that looks like fun! If it was loose choss, i reckon not quite as much fun.

Sawtooth is one of my favorites! The view from there is amazing. You do traverse just below the ridge and then up to the summit. It isn't a bad traverse, lots of DG and large boulders. The worst part is getting to Sawtooth pass through all of the DG.
