Topped out on Middle Cathedral yesterday via the East Buttress. At 11 pitches plus the approach and descent, this was my longest trad route! Based on the 20-30% chance of T-storms, we lugged a heavy pack of bivy gear (15-20 lbs.) and an extra 60 meter rope in case we had to spend the night up there or rap down. Luckily it was sunny nearly all day and we had way more gear than needed. The most memorable moment was getting up the excruciatingly long 5.8 chimney with that pack. I officially hate Yosemite chimneys! Overall the experience was very enjoyable and gave me a little taste of bigger/longer climbs with a splash of aide. Next is Leaning Tower's West Face. If and when I get some pics from my partner, I will be sure to post them.

Congratulations Casey on climbing a Yosemite mega-classic! Way to go! I'm psyched to see pictures. Looking forward to them.

What day were you there? I was just on the Lost Arrow Spire. I got off of it yesterday. Pictures are here: The Lost Arrow Spire September 27-30, 2011

Kurt, those pictures are awesome! Will you be giving a slideshow on that climb sometime. I'd love to see it and hear some stories on this. The Lost Arrow is a famous climb.

Sure, but I don't want to hijack Casey's thread. I want to see his shots of Middle Cathedral. I'll start a new thread about the Lost Arrow Spire.

Casey, we're psyched to see your partners pictures from Middle Cathedral!!!!

Thanks Kurt and Jeff. I was there just Saturday. The whole thing took 8 hours, but we screwed around a lot too. Wow Kurt, you really have tons of photos of Lost Arrow. I think we only have like 10 from our trip. I like the video of the pendulum. The climb looks really fun and aidetastic! How much aide did you do?

Ya Adam shouldn't be a problem as long as the weather is good.
