I can't confirm they went from the summit of Whitney, but two years ago as I was arriving at LBSL I saw someone parachuting above UBSL with skis on.

I can't find the thread, but someone posted pics of the guy. I thought I remember someone else on the board saying that he used his chute as a bivy.
