Darn! I'm going to be in SoCal at the end of January, but heading home on the 29th... looks like I miss the dates again. One of these years I'd really like to see one of Kurt's presentations.

I've put the hike on my calendar now so I can actually make it.

How are they going to have permit applications at the show now that it's done on line?

It's on my calendar! Easier to get off work Friday than getting out of family activities on the weekend.

I will be there along with my son. Apparently graduating high school seniors can play hooky on occasion. My teenager will be available for providing Sherpa duties (all proceeds going to the college fund).

Let me know if anybody wants to carpool up from San Diego.

See you there!

Son-am Sherpa (We'll name your son after one of the many Sherpas I've climbed with.) (Since Kurt carried April's pack on the last climb, maybe Son-am can carry Kurt's this time?)

I have made a bunch of these hikes in the past and heartily recommend them to anyone considering joining in. Unfortunately, I am in demand at work this week. ("Unfortunately" applies to inability to participate in the hike, not to being employed.)

Hey Everybody,

I'm looking forward to giving these clinics and seeing all the usual suspects show up along with meeting many new faces. If you're attending one of the clinics and we haven't met before be sure to take a moment and come say "hello" either before or after the lecture.

The stores will have a few give away items after the show and I'll be raffling off a free slot on an SMI Snow Travel School or a 1-day Rock Climbing Course at each store. We'll also have a drawing with the winner getting a free slot on an SMI climb of the Mountaineer's Route of Mt. Whitney!

I'm looking forward to the Baldy hike on Friday. These hikes are always a great time. See you at 6am at Manker Flats!
