Another fabulous climb. This one in my opinion has one of the most beautiful approaches. We decide on ascending up the winter route and although I knew Bob wanted to descend the same way, we decide to go down the OAP for my own enrichment since I had never been. Despite all the chatter/blogs describing the OAP as unmaintained and less-than-ideal, I found it to be quite the contrary. Feel free to view my 20 photos from our day hike.

Another great day, Carine! Nice photos, but you should post at least one of yourself.

The "winter route" behind Cottonwood Lake #5 is a good way up, even with no snow. It's shorter than (Old) Army Pass. There is a little easy class three scrambling and route finding required, but it's not bad. There was less loose scree than one would expect, so it's a pleasnt route.
