Hi All - We had a rather FANTASTIC turn out for Shin's 300th Baldy Summit last Saturday. Thank you Jeff Scofield for setting it up! Here is the list of participants that I came up with from posts here, Facebook, and pictures. Tracie, Cori, and I are still working on it. If you guys could fill in the blanks (first and last names, board names, trail names) that would be greatly appreciated. Here's the list so far: SHIN NIMURA JEFF SCOFIELD ROSIE BREEN ROSIE’S BROTHER KEN - last name KRISTINE LIM CAROLE CHRISTIANSON PATRICK MOORE (friend of Carole’s) FRANK ASBURY HIKIN’ JIM - last name LITTLE JOYCIE HIKIN' JIM'S FRIEND - name? If any of you are wondering what a WPSMB Group Hike is all about, just watch the video and be prepared for love, laughter, and good times! ShinDig 300 video Also, I have a second project that I need a little help with (the list of names will also be used here). The photos used for the video were mainly from Facebook and they upload at low resolution which was fine for the video, but the second project will require a higher res photo. So, if you have full res photos you can email to me. (BiletChick@aol.com) Or if you can upload 'large or full res" to a site like Flickr, SmugMug, Google/Picassa, etc and send the link. I'll download pics for the project from there. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Stacy

Stacy, this is such an amazing video... and I'm really impressed with how fast you put it together! (LOL! I still haven't done mine from my JMT last summer!) I've shown it to my co-workers and friends, and everyone loves it. It gives them a better idea of why I love the mountains and why my mountain-friends are so very special. Your video totally captures the joy of this hike!!
My brother, Ken's last name is Heid.
Here's the link to my smugMug pics. If you need higher resolution I could send you a CD with pics. http://rosabella.smugmug.com/Other/2012-MtBaldy-Hike-for-Shins/27152569_MHfvWx#!i=2279591703&k=bKB5fjS
Thank you Stacy for making this wonderful tribute to Shin's 300th Baldy summit! You're GREAT!!!

Thanks Rosie, it's the least I can do. Shin is a very special person to all of us and it shows in the turn out for this event. I was just trying to convey the love and togetherness that we share when we all hike together. It truly is a family atmosphere. THANK YOU DOUG AND EARLENE!!! I'll grab pics from your site. That should work just fine. Hope to have project #2 done after the new year... Thanks again Rosie!

You mean how many people asked, "Where's Richard?" - All of us did! Didn't think you'd miss this one. I thought, for sure, you'd pop out of that tent on the summit!

I felt the knife entering my back very slowly as she also said:
"All those people made it and you didn't?"
Ouch, ouch and triple ouch...

Hi Stacy you captured the day ,all the great moments shared and the views of and off the mountain are priceless .
Now onto the Richard story .I got stuck causing many others to stop and then fail to get up the last hill , We were able to make a parking lot and get the cars out of the roadway. Norma and others took people up to the trailhead , Richard you were on the list some of us failed even to make the list !!! but crashed the party any way.
Add to all these insults Frank and I had to walk the last mile! Me thinking any minute Frank will leave me and go his own way? When we stated the hike someone said Carole was driving up later and my thoughts were Richard may have missed the other 700 cars but Carole will pick Richard up and he will catch up to the slow group. I know that would be an insult but at least he would be on the mountain . Carole had to crawl under her car remove the chain that had wrapped around the axle and still made the drive from the far North.
I only had one extra jacket no stove and was concerned when the clouds started building and moving into the canyon I would be benighted without your SKA's (luck) making it the next two or three days till we could team up with someone and get down. When by sheer luck I reached the summit I did spot a bivy , I recall from other reports you should always have a bivy... now I had one. Richard did you plan bringing a bivy? The bivy had stuff inside so when everyone left I had planned on the bootie raid or this time of the year Christmas raid. My hope was it wasn't Micky D . But then on the way down one of the first group needed food and Hikergirl saved the day not only a Micky D but a PBJ !
I think Shin will have more hikes up Baldy when the conditions are better. It would be nice having another day on the mountain.
Now I don't think Harvey will travel the 2000 miles or all the others that flew or drove thousands of miles could just on a moments notice make the day but well driving down from Ridgecrest should be OK. Frank and I had a good walk up from the last hill where the truck was stuck . Frank Thank you for the time together.
Thanks everyone for making this a great day for Shin. Doug
Where's Richard?

just when I thought there was nothing else for anyone else to say or post, Doug comes along with that masterpiece. It's all in truth and jest, but I cannot help but read it and post this quote:

Stacy, that is an awesome video with a great sound track! This is a great treasure for Shin and everyone who attended. This video should be posted at the top of the board so it does not get lost as more posts are added over time. Excellent work.

Hi Stacy, My wife,Kazuko, and I enjoyed your video very much especially my wife. Because, she prepared lunches and snacks over 300 times. Without her understanding,I couldn't have done this. Your video is our family treasure. Your video not only captured the day so well but also reminded us how lucky we are to share time with good friends through our hobby.
Thank you very much for producing a such nice video for all of us.

Stacy, What an awesome video!! You've done a great job of capturing this wonderful achievement of Shin's, as well as all those who were there to celebrate with him. Just watching it brings back the memories. Again, I really enjoyed getting to know you, Curt and everybody else. Shin, although I just met you, it is evident that you are a wonderful caring, person,(he even offered to go back up to the summit so that everyone could get there picture taken with him). It is a pleasure to know you. Yeti, thanks again for putting this together, Norma R. thanks for the ride up, and Stacy and Curt thanks for the ride back down. If anyone wants to add me on Facebook go ahead. My full name is Ross Menzel. I'm sure I'm the only one. Take care everyone and Merry Christmas!!

I feel bad, rounding the corner I saw all the cars "parked" and wondered why people would park there and was there a house party? I even mentioned to Zack that one of them looked like Frank! It was so good seeing everyone. Love the video!

Stacy, Thank you for tabulating the list and making the video, very nice. Thanks for the ride up Green Mountain Boy if not for you I would have done what Richard did and headed down the hill. No way I make Manker on my own. We stopped for every stuck car along the road. At the last corner we stopped for Doug and Karin, and close by were Harvey and Hikinjim, all stuck on ice. It was slick!! Everyone was in good hands though; Doug Thompson has experience helping cars stuck on icy mountain roads.
While we worked we watched friends slip and slide up the hill. Tracie, it was smart to keep moving and not stop. By the time we were done we realized we had too many people for one car, so Doug and I walked. Doug, it was amazing how many topics we covered in that short hike to Manker, a good start to a good day.
Also…Thanks Carole for the ride down, the roads were dry but traffic was a bear. Here is the tattered and torn blue summit tent one week later. I think that tent was not rated for winter wind.
Happy Holidays to All

Thank you to all who donated pictures, Shin's photo book was a success! We (Jeff, Zach, Patrick, Norma R, James L, Curt, and myself) presented it to him at YETI's climbing party in Joshua Tree last weekend. To view the book online click here: ShinDig 300 Photo Book I think he liked it Thanks again, Stacy
