Hello Members,
High Sierra Topix are conducting a search for one
of their members who went missing during a trip 10/19/12-
10/22/12 in the Taboose Pass area.
Would like to see any photos that were
taken 10/20 or 10/21 to establish what Larry saw
at the time of his backpacking trip. With the information
that these photos may provide they hope to narrow down the
possible routes he may have chosen because of the threat
of an incoming system. Thank you for any help you can
provide.

I notice that the topic is actually locked, but PM "maverick" there if you have help or new info to offer.

Sounds like a worthwhile way to spend a few days. I'll be there, not too close to the others. Don't want to jinx things up.

First, would like to say thank you to Salty for posting
this I was having technical issues posting for some reason.
We are looking for volunteers, especially experienced
backpackers for our search.
Joe, you and anyone else here is welcome to sign up for
this effort by filling out the info form at HST and then
PM-ing it to me. The more teams we have searching the
greater the chances we have of finding him and bringing
his partner, family, and son closure.

Thanks,
Peter

Hi Davey,

Thanks for the offer and would extend to you what was written
to Joe (and anyone else here interested in helping) which is
just please click on the link provided, PM me the requested
information, then get assigned to a search team sometime
in July, and we shall meet you out there.
Meet up times will be discussed and future updates will be
posted on the link provided. Still working with SEKI NPS to
get more info about the search, conditions in certain areas
of interest, and getting a waiver on the 15 per day quota
for Taboose Pass for this time period.

Thank You
Peter

This discussion has been reactivated at HST in preparation for the resumed search.

In particular, the search organizers are looking for resupply support over Taboose Pass. This appears to be key to the search effort, so any support from packers or high capacity hikers I am sure will be appreciated.

We are still looking for volunteers who would like to
participate in our search 7/30-8/4.
SEKI NPS and INYO NF have allowed us to conduct our
search and waived the quotas for Taboose Pass.
Updated info on the search can be found at:

If you are interested in participating please contact me at

Thank You,
Peter

Peter, you've been so dedicated to the search for Larry... it's really inspiring. I've followed your thread on the High Sierra Topix board, and was so happy when the SEKI NPS and INTO NF gave their blessing to continue the search.

I can only imagine what his family has gone thru with all of this. Is there a fund set up to help cover search expenses? There's not much I can to to help (geographic limitations), but I would like to contribute in some way.

Thank you for being such a caring human being.

Thank you Rosabell for your kind words. To many people are
continuing to suffer the effects of him missing, the family,
friends, HST members, and SAR members who participated.
Bringing closure to all is the only, and right thing to do.
