Any thoughts or news about when the road to Horseshoe Meadow will open?

My husband was working on it today. He says they still have a way to go.

They are taking advantage of the weather to make some much needed improvements. I'll post as soon as I know that it is open.

Just heard they are down to the first switchback (they started from the top). They are shooting to have it open by May 1st.

We hiked to the Fin, and then we visited some of the Cottonwood Lakes. Thank you for the information!

I hiked to Trail Peak, Edge of the World Peak, and Horseshoe Peak. The snow melted fast this week.

I hiked to Cirque, Peak 12524, Langleyview, Trailmaster, and Midway. Beautiful weather. Almost no snow. We were actually chilly on Cirque!

Nice pics. Were the mosquitoes biting?

I didn't apply any Deet, and I didn't get bit one time.

Lol. That's funny that you noticed that. I got tired a few years back of saying the hike of 4 Twelvers and an Elevener. Since the hike really doesn't have a name we shortened it to the hike of 5 Twelvers so that all would know the route. The average of the five is over 12,000, but it is not precise enough for some. If others choose to call it what they want then so be it. Very observant of you though.

Just teasing. Combining those peaks is actually one of my favorite hikes. But I usually skip Peak 12417.
