Hi it would be best to have all the gear you need for snow and ice . We are in the beast now people with high skill levels full mountaineering experience can do the trail/chute without crampons .Most hikers are reaching the cable area and turning back . We are having wind and cloud cover so expect the slopes to ice during the day. Very little snow to trail camp and up the first 15-20 switch backs .Postholing below the chute if you miss the early morning crust. Many permits open the next few weeks I would wait until the trail clears !!!!
