Happy Easter to everyone. Bets and I did our usual Sunday morning walk and thought we smelled Whitney Portal store food cooking. It's already the start of another Whitney season.

Hope you all have great hiking in 2014.

Hi And another year, Cayden and I got in a good walk yesterday ,up big rock and checked out the Portal proper, Myles and Maura held down the fort, crazy few days with the gate and the flood of cars when it opened.

The road has been dry the last several years around the first of March so looks like we will open March 1 in the coming years and close after the first major storm sometime in December. Thanks Doug

So psyched to see the Whitney Portal Store back open! After guiding a great Easter weekend climb of the Mountianeers Route there was nothing sweeter than introducing my group to the best bacon cheeseburger on the planet. Thanks Doug and Myles!

OK Kurt, you've talked me into it, I will be up there at the weekend to have my first good burger of the year.

Yeah buddy! Come on up. It's storming in these hills. You're going to be treated to some fresh snow and awesome scenery!

It's been going on for a couple days now. The boat check is all set up at the Vons parking lot in Bishop. I saw boats coming through Bishop on Tuesday and Wednesday and the number of them have picked up since. It's always a great time here on the East Side. You can easily escape the fishing scene by going hiking, skiing, or climbing.

Does that mean you'll be Passinthru????
