I though that state of California was separated into northern California and southern California for last several days.
Doug, keep us connected 24/7 with Mt. Whitney area during your 6 months of hibernation.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Thank you again.

We all BB

(The chain of events: Myles goes to China; uses government network to access board; board shuts down; the board comes back online---but now with incredible deals for Viagra!)

Hi Will do a quick update on the Board being down .

First it started with a certain person redirected members to another site , he was confronted and made a public statement that he did in fact hack the site for his gain. Strike 1

Sometime this summer new members could not post and I contacted a wed site company to see if we had again been hit. nothing was found but new members could not post.

I searched the admin logs and found that usernames had been changed and several new admins were on the site. I requested support from UBBcentral to block the access to the control panel , this took several weeks and now this issue is over.

My next steps will be to put this chain of events together and move forward with the agencies that may be involved.

Thank you all for the years of support and keeping the Board clean that is all I ever ask. It is a sad day when people with very low ethics and stature can and will exploit for some unknown gain.

Sorry you had trouble with the site Doug . I would post more if I were able to get up there and do something more often . I am happy to hear that you have found the culprit and are taking appropriate actions........hope to be up in LP in December ........

Geez, I thought it was a typical UBB upgrade/incompatibility issue, given the error message. But to find out what really happened is pretty despicable on so many levels. Hard to comprehend that degree of ignorant desperation and disregard for all that you've given to the hiking & climbing community.

Sorry you have to deal with this, Doug. Let me know if I can help in any way.
