So the question of the week Where do I get the extra parking permit? As stated on the permit each permit will get 1 ONE parking permit , this means a group will get 1 ONE space to park if a space is open. Very simple math 1 permit 1 space maybe if a space is open.
Next seems the the cleaver choice is rent the camp site for several more days right, but that fails since you need to be in the site !

The leader will sign that they are aware of the restrictions but it looks like many leaders? are not telling the group about the parking or where to meet and car pool up./

We are seeing people that are shocked they can not park in the Portal without a parking permit and hike. Please spread the word!

I have an overnight pass to camp on Mt. Whitney Friday 8/26 - Sunday 8/29 (3 nights and 4 days). The parking pass I will receive will cover me for trailhead parking those four days, correct? But....there is no guarantee I will have a parking space either, right? I'm scheduled to camp at Whitney Portal Campground on Thursday 8/25, the night before, but I'll have to vacate that space on Friday. This is a difficult trip for which to plan. I wish I could think my logistics were done and just focus on conditioning and acclimating. Help!!!
