Baldy regulars may have run into Sam Kim, a 78 year old avid hiker who hiked Baldy regularly in the late mornings/afternoons. As you may have heard, he passed away on the mountain.
Baldy Hiker Death A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on April 22 at St. Gregory Nazianzen Church, located at 911 S. Norton Ave. in Koreatown. A reception will follow and the family has invited hikers who knew him to attend and share stories and photos. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it, but I'm passing this on in case others are able to attend.
