Does anyone have info on trail conditions to the lakes? I see Glacier Point Road is
open. Have permits for Memorial weekend. Last year, same weekend and less snow
year, was clear to lake #3. We have all the winter tools, and know how to use them,
if necessary. Living in sunny San Diego, it's hard to know what's happening west
of the 395.

Hi Mary, Snow starts just at about 9000 ' just above Second Falls. It is firm up to around Cheney's cabin but I haven't been past there lately.

Thanks for the reply. Any current conditions? Is there water available at Lake One or
Two? We plan to be out for three nights.

"Big Pine Lakes update from last weekend: There was mostly full snow coverage starting at about 10,000'. Lakes #1 and #3 were starting to melt, but Lakes #2, #4 and #5 were still frozen solid (enough to walk over). Calm weather and beautiful sunset & sunrise camping at Lake #2. No other tracks above Lake #4."
