I was unlucky in this years lottery. I am looking to see if anyone has an extra permit for either September 9th or 10th for the main trail. I will try for a walk in permit, but checking to see if anyone has an extra opening. I'm attempting my 22nd summit.

How difficult was it to get a walk up permit?
Been checking every day multiple times to grab a cancellation for sep 27 or 28 but nothing so far.

No need for a walk up permit. I was able to get a permit 4 days before my trip. I checked every day multiple times a day on recreation.gov. The trip was great as always, perfect weather with no issues. Already looking forward to #23.

Thanks! Yep, been checking about 10x a day and a bunch of day and overnight are popping up. Nothing for the 27th or 28th yet, but looks like it’s just a matter of days now and checking several times a day. Whitney #4 just a week away hopefully. :-)

And I got one for Thursday! Definitely paid off to check every half hour for the past week.
