Quake a out 50 miles south shook the store ,but hikers walking said felt nothing,I agree the 6.4 yesterday I was out checking run off and didn't feel it.
No damage and no rock fall on the road but Many after shocks so watch for rocks on the road and slides on the trail.

As someone who was 10+/- miles from the epicenter of this one and Northride '94, I can say this was much worse from a shaking perspective. Imagine the carnage if this had been close to LA or SF...

On the Fourth, I watch a mountain down here get a little shorter from the first one...amazing rockfall scene.

Meanwhile, maybe Mt. Whitney grew another foot...

Which mountain were you watching, Richard?

I was just about to leave Horseshoe Meadow when the 7.1 hit. It really shook my car and the one next to me for about 15 seconds. I’m glad the damage isn’t any worse than it is.

As soon as I saw Ridgecrest I thought of you Richard P. Hope you are well.

Eyeing a return to Whitney sometime soon with my 9-year old son in tow (where does the time go?)..

Sending lots of love to all of you and hope everyone gets by with no damage.
