Patrick(lilbitmo) and I were talking about making special t shirts for this years Climb for Heroes. In 2021 our WPMSB lost James Ledbetter and in 2022 we lost Tina. The t shirts would be for the annual fundraiser we do for the Climb for Heroes and a "Memorial" hike for Tina and James. Hoping the WPSMB family can support this especially since James was the main driving force in this hike for the Heroes Project the last few years. I'll post more later but it's November 12th and like always on Mt Baldy.

The time is fast approaching for the Climb for Heroes that some of us participate in every year. Jeff Scofield, Todd Martin and myself typically show up the day before and pitch in to help set things up and we look forward to seeing all our friends and family show up that can make it.

If you are interested in participating in this wonderful event here's what you need to do:

First you need to go over to the event page on Climb for Heroes website
https://theheroesproject.org/climbforheroes (google it or copy and paste this shortcut) to get a login go here - https://p2p.charityengine.net/climbforheroes22/
You have to register if you plan to participate but first they want you to get yourself a login and password then come back to the page where you find the button near the bottom of the events page that says "Register" hit that button and follow the instructions.
The registration page is a little confusing at times but if you pay attention and from the beginning you say I want to donate $125 you will be fully registered, if you leave the preset (which is $25) you'll have to come back into the donate page and put in $100 because the preset is only going to charge your card $25 the first time and the minimum to participate is $125 (it doesn't matter if you pay it or you raise that amount, but $125 is required to go on the mountain the day of the event).

Since we do this a family of friends we typically always raise the funds under "Whitney Portal Store Message Board" but this year we are registering under Doug Thompsons Team name - go here - https://p2p.charityengine.net/climbforheroes22/Fundraising/team/DougThompsonsTeam (copy and paste or when it asks you do you want to join a team type in Doug's Name and it'll redirect you to that spot so you can register under our team).

Once you've gotten a login, registered for the event, you can go back in and there's a page under each and every one(s) name that allows you to email friends and family if you want to get them involved or to post on social media to make others aware.

Let us know if you need help. Thanks Patrick (lilbitmo) and family smile

Just a heads up. If you registered and it only charged you $25 total you still need to 1) donate $100 more so your total is $125 or 2) Ask family and friends to help you raise another $100 so that the total is $125 in order to participate in the hike on the day of the event and get what they call the "Swag" or hand outs.

Just registering does not get you involved, it just means you are committed to raising $125. Any questions call the number on the webpage under donations.

Thanks - see everyone in 13 days.

Patrick, what I am reading, once you sign in you can start hiking, is that the fact? I am going to need the time to get up and down, getting a new knee after the first of the year and will be going slow on this.
It will be good to see everyone.
