There's a saddle you cross as you pass Trail Peak (on the PCT) that has a "finger" of Horseshoe Meadow extending up towards it...my evil mind always thinks "This would be so cool to ride up to at the end of the season when the meadow has dried out..." Of course, I'll never really do it, but since I've been to TP and CP so many times, I decided I'd try and snowshoe up it...was running late...still at least a quarter mile of difficult terrain, so I just followed the arrow to the closest point I could tag on the PCT...it was a hard day...like Mike encountered, the spin in spots had me drop nearly waist deep (with snowshoes)...!

It was an Outstanding Day...here are some photos and a video:

That's where I wanted to go...later start...ended up back at the car in the dark...would have been much worse if I had gone that way...

South facing slopes at 10k are mostly melted out...

Long shadows...uh...oh...

This is beautiful! Do you by chance have any photos of that stream you cross just as soon as you come out of the trees about maybe 3/4 a mile from trailhead? The one that's not very wide but sure is deep.

All of the streams in the meadows area are under snow now...
