WOW! When you say Panorama, you mean PANORAMA! That's impressive! But I have to ask...how did you do it? (obvious we're not talking some S.L.R. camera here...)

I stiched five hi res photos in each panorama, it takes some time to adjust everything but is worth.
To be honest, when I go to sleep and each time I close my eyes I have that view in front of me. It is just magnificent.
Thank you for your comment.

Great work, Tomi. I am envious. How do you stich the photos together? I can only detect one obvious "seam" in the second panorama (dark to light blue in the sky about 1/3 way across from right).

I always end up with "banding" effect in the sky that requires more work or skill than I have to remove. Here's an example (sorry, not Mt. Whitney; this is from the summit of Elephant's Back, Carson Pass and Red Lake Peak at left):

Tomi,

Thank you so much for sharing your panoramas!
They are beyond words to describe!

I was in the Palmdale/Lancaster area for a family funeral beginning 2/26. Ny wife, who couldn't make it for the funeral, did join me on 3/2, and then we both returned to Ohio earlier today (3/7). The funeral was 2/27. After that was over, I/we had the remaining week to both spend time helping my mom, but also to do some hiking.

Before my wife arrived, I did a bit of the PCT going north from Walker Pass; another time, I took a step-brother and his girlfriend hiking in Red Rock Canyon SP as well as driving further north along the eastern Range of the Sierra (to show them the mountains) as far as Coso Junction before having to return to Lancaster at the end of the day; and finally, once my wife arrived, she and I did a bit of the PCT going *south* from Walker Pass (as well as some hiking in Red Rock Canyon SP).

On all three of these occasions (especially the one where we made it as far as Coso Junction), I desparately wanted to drive all the way to Lone Pine just to see Whitney and the High Sierra with all of the snowfall. All three times, we really didn't have the time.

Having now seen your incredible panoramas, I feel a lot better about having missed making it to Lone Pine at least once while I was in CA.

Again, thanks so much for sharing these!!

CaT
