We came to Portal on Friday with the plan to hike to the top. Ended up only at Trail Camp because my partner (my wife) had terrible headache and we went down on Saturday. The weather was nice, from time to time windy with clouds. Over night Trail Camp Lake freeze. Saturday morning was gorgeous, clear, no clouds. Early in the morning the snow was hard and good for going up the chute, if you are late it is dificult because of melting.
I took hike toward Pinnacle Ridge, it was beautiful and if you have time to spend go there. Like JCB informed, cables are up now and it will be mutch easier to go over. I watched some people negotiating more than half an hour to go over. Marmots are working hard so keep your stuff safe.

I'm awed by your technique!

As usual, excellent photographs.

Tomi,
As always wonderful pictures, and I believe I passed you and your wife crossing the river at Outpost Camp Friday afternoon after 3:00 p.m. when I was heading down. What camera were you using?

Tomi,

Beautiful pictures!

What filter did you use to take these awesome pictures?

Thanks,

I am using Olympus digital SLR, it has really great lens plus Hoya Skylight 1B filter or sometimes Hoya Pol-Circ filter. The camera with zoom lens is little bit to heavy and bulky
but I like it.
georem It is possible that we were at that time, we took long break at the OC around the creek.
