I haven't seen any trip reports for Russell in April. I'm looking at doing the South Face, Right Side from Iceberg Lake. Does anyone have any beta for this time of year? Too prone to avalanche, etc.?
You should have no problem if you start real early while the snow is still frozen. Do you plan to descend the East Ridge? The South Face of Russell has many options, so you can make it as difficult (technically) as you want.
