If any one knows John Zazzara, a great mountain climber, I am very sorry to notify you that he has been missing in Mt McLoughlin area for over a week. The rescue has just been called off.

I’ve found my best friend and climbing partner on 24 of June at 17:20, dead, a few hundred feet below the summit.

Thanks for that story of friendship and devotion--I'm very sad for your loss. I recently lost a very fit, 40-year-old occasional hiking partner to a heart attack, but in this case at an office desk. If there's any consolation to be had, at least John spent his last hours in a place where he was truly happy.
