Bengator:
Those are awesome! What a trip. I'm sure it was completely breathtaking to "break" some trail with the snow. Thanks for sharing the shots!

Tomcat,

You aren't kidding about digital. My partner brought his digital and brought my 2 disposable cameras that were half full of tailgating pictures just to finish the rolls. Unfortunately, my buddy forgot to check the battery on his camera and it was totally dead (and dead weight). Sometimes the 20th century comes in handy . . .

What up BenGator?! I remember you passing us up on the trail. We were the group asking about all the sports scores. Any chance you have a panoramic photo from the summit? I have been looking for one... my photos didnt turn out like I wanted them too.

Nice Pics. I assume that you summitted based on the dialogue. How long did it take you to go from Trail Crest to Summit? Also, approx how long to get down from TCrest to TCamp?

Socal,

Glad I could give you the scores, but no summit panorama as we turned back about 1/2 mile from the summit. Glad you guys made it up! My partner was nervous about the weather, seeing all the various storms, some of which had lightning, and I am not a snow hound, so I didn't complain too much about it. I'll go up this summer.

Corazon,

As you can tell from above we didn't summit (my trip report is posted on the board), but got below the final ridge before turning around. I wasn't looking at my watch, but I would say a little over an hour from trail crest to summit, maybe 1.5 hours. Its only 1.9 miles, but footing is not so good w/ drops off your left hand side. I would guess it tooks us at least a good hour to get down the switchbacks, maybe more, as it was starting to get slick. I remember thinking that it took a lot longer than I thought it would . . .

Great pics benagator!
Sort of looks a little different with it's first dusting of snow.
I'd be willing to bet that problems parking, campsites at the portal (packed),bear storage lockers(like sardine cans), store and Main Trail we're pretty much lackin' a whole lot of people.
Not like August 15 when we summited.
Way to Go!!
