As of Sunday, it was the most glorious weather imaginable -- but that can change in a matter of hours -- or even minutes, so be prepared for cold windy, and possibly wet conditions. On Sunday it was totally clear until about 5:00, when some patchy clouds formed, casting a cold shadow. The clouds dissipated shortly after sundown, but those still descending the switchbacks in the early evening came down chilled. The back side of the mountain was also cold until the sun rose high enough to come over the ridge. I couldn't speak to the actual temperature, but the summit was warm and clear with very little wind at noon Sunday -- it felt like about 75°, but that was probably due to the warm sun and lack of wind; I suspect the actual temperature was much lower. When I descended the switchbacks before the clouds began to form, I was uncomfortably warm. The only place we encountered unpleasant windiness was at trail crest, which I think is *always* windy, but again, today's wind conditions are not a reliable indicator of tomorrow's!
As for trail condidions Sunday, there were patches of snow, and there was light ice on the switchbacks in the morning. I found several places where water was flowing over ice-covered rocks, and these rocks were exceptionally slippery. There was no way to visually distinguish these rocks from their non-icy brethren, other than to test your footing. Care and trekking poles were enough to get me by.
Hope that helps...
