I know a bit off topic here. But can anyone recommend a place in Bakersfield that would be "reasonably" safe to park a car for a week----without getting towed?

Thanks,

Fellow WPSMB members Rick Kent and Rafael live in the area so perhaps if they see this message they'll have a suggestion. If not, here's one...

A couple years ago in December I was headed to Oakland to catch a Raiders game (back when they were a good team) with a good friend who lived in So Cal. Since I live in Bishop we met at Bakersfield and drove up together. My friend left his car parked in the lot of a large Baptist Church and it wasn't bothered. It wasn't for a week though. My friend attended a Baptist Church in Redlands. You might ask the pastor of your church if he knows a pastor in Bakersfield and see if he can help.

If that doesn't work, try the local PD.

Well I don't go to any Churches in Phoenix. Actually I was thinking of calling the PD up there and asking them.

Edit: Well I called the Bakersfield PD and they said that it would have to be on Private property w/ permission to be legal. Anything left otherwise for more than 3 days is considered abandoned. She said if I parked it in a rural area that unless a police car thought it was abandoned and even if a neighbor called it in it usually takes 3 weeks for them to come check it out and tow it.

My previous idea would have been like a walmart or similar 24 hour location, but not sure if I like that idea anymore. Just don't know anybody there to leave it in front of someones house.

Hmmm. - Well I have till Monday to figure something out.

I know some areas that are non-ghetto in the north-east side of town where I live. Maybe even infront of my house on the street. Send me a private message or e-mail and we can discuss the details.

You might ask a hotel, two years ago I left my truck at Mammoth Mountan Lodge and they held my keys. They didn't charge me either.
