I'm Back!
Wow...First of all let me just say that although my group did not summit, we had a GREAT time!!!
It snowed Friday night while we were at Outpost camp. I spent 14 hours in my cocoon (sleeping bag) inside my tent with a frozen camelback and a pack of gum. We left Outpost camp at 8am the next morning for Trail Camp. What an extremely beautiful day Saturday was. We made it to Trail Camp, stayed about 1 hour, then proceeded to head back down. Our group decided to pack up our stuff when we got back to Outpost Camp and head back down and go home.
A couple of questions for some of the veterans out there:
1. Does anyone know how cold it was Friday night because all I know is that it was DAMN cold!!
2. Are there any water filters that DO NOT Freeze because ours did!!
3. Is it safe during this type of weather to keep food in your tent? I was soooo hungry but more scared of bears.
Thanks to Anacapabandit and PTMcG for saying Hi! My aunt told me that there were others who asked if she was "Ana," In case you did and it wasn't me..Thanks as well!! I am looking forward to summiting next time, but in the summer!!!

Ana, glad to hear you had a fun and safe time. It was so nice to have met you along the trail.

John H & Mahu1982; Your temperature readings would lead me to extrapolate it must have been near zero at Trail Camp around 5:00am Saturday morning (pre-light). After having camped there both Thursday and Friday nights, it was nice to have spent the last three days thawing out in Newport Beach.
