My team will be summiting Whitney via the normal route from 04Jan2008-09Jan2008. We will arrive on a friday. Does anyone know where I can get fuel in Lone Pine friday around 5 or 6 PM?

There are two or three sporting goods stores near the intersection of the Whitney Portal Road. One is called Elevation, which can be reached at 760-876-4560, or info@SierraElevation.com. Hi The main market in town stays open till 8PM they may have fuel and the hardware store across the street from the market will have fuel they stay open until 6PM I don't know what stove you have but some do fine on car gas , if traveling from the city LA, LV, Reno K- Mart, Walmarts carry the white gas, Bishop or Ridgecrest or Lancaster, if you think it will be late getting to Lone Pine. I just talked with the Standard Station at the South end of town the owner says they have in stock the 32 oz size and they stay open late maybe 11:00 PM 76O 876 5844.Thanks Doug
