Hey everyone,
Just putting this post up to see if there are folks interested in heading up Mt. Whitney via the Mountaineer's Route on any one of the weekends in January. I haven't been in the Sierra this winter and is dying for some thin air and frigid mornings. My winter climbing season needs a jumpstart with a fun outing on Whitney.
The awesome feeling of crampons biting the ice is calling, and I must go!
My itinerary is usually like this:
Friday night: Drive from LA to as close to the Whitney Portal as possible and spend the night there.
Saturday: Hike up to UBSL or Iceberg Lake.
Sunday: Get a shot at the summit via MR & head back down.
There seems to be some really interesting characters on this board and it would be great to climb with some of ya.
