I finally found the current snowpack graph for 2008. It is useful in watching the total water content of the snowpack. Mt Whitney area is the bottom graph. It shows the current level at a little above average for todays date.

It is not the snow pack depth/ water content specifically of the main trail or the North Fork one would normally use to get to Mt. Whitney.
As Steve C noted: The closest actual reporting station is at Cottonwood Lakes, which is very helpful in looking at temperatures or amount of actual moisture from a recent storm. The sensor is around 10100 feet.
