I apologize in advance for being off topic but it's February so perhaps I can get away with it briefly!

I would like to climb Denali (Mt McKinley) on a guided trip in spring 2009. I am looking for like minded climbers with successful Whitney experiences to train with. Specifically, I am 51, live in SoCal, have summited Whitney 5 times and Rainier last June. I have aspirations to try to do as many of the "Seven Summits" as possible. Surely there must be others on this board with the same idea.

It would be great to have a team of 2-3 Denali climbers who could train together on winter hikes of San Jacinto, Gorgonio and the Sierra. If you have any interest in this, send me a private message or reply to this posting and thanks very much for your consideration!

Spring 2009 is far out. You may want to talk to Rick, he mentioned he had Denali that in the planning and looking for partners...but I think he may be going this Spring though...double check that.
I can always use the training myself since i will be doing Aconcagua in Jan 09, and if all goes well and i have another big one in me I may join you if its not too late at that time.
Join us later this month in for a winter Climb as a practice....and any other you have planned!

I'm not interested in a guided Denali climb, but I do a lot of training on the local mountains (I live in SoCal too). PM me if you have specific plans, I might be able to join in.

American Alpine Institute features a seven day Denali prep course on Mt Baker (WA) which would porbably be a good idea to take prior to the trip. Whitney can be cold in the winter, but no comparison to Denali.I may be interested in a 2009 adventure.
cheers
