Just as a reminder to those still trying to get one, today was the first day to snatch up leftover permits for July. I called at what I thought was 8:00 AM and got the recording that the office was still closed. I immediately tried calling again but it was busy, and remained busy as I continued to redial. I did get through at about 8:30 though, and got a midweek dayhike permit for July. I'm planning on trying again for an August permit as well, although for that one I may just show up in person for the no-show permits. The permits are out there, if you're a bit flexible and persistent. Happy climbing/hiking!
