Heading up to the lone pine area this weekend to camp with my folks, and was wondering if anyone could suggest some short easy hikes to expose them to some of the beauty of the eastren sierra.

just hike to lone pine lake. it's beautiful...
just go really early the hike from portal into the
john muir wilderness can be brutally hot.

Easy is relative term for those not initiated to High Sierra hiking.

Horseshoe Meadow area is about the "easiest" area around Lone Pine. Just wander up either Cottonwood Lakes or Cottonwood Pass Trailheads.

Thanks for your replies , I should of mentioned my Dad is in gr8 shape and Iam sure would be fine on the Lone Pine Lake hike unfortunately his wife is not and don't think she could make it to the lake. Maybe Horseshoe meadow is the ticket, as I remember the trail going out is fairly flat.

Bishop is not too far away - drive to South Lake and do a hike to Long Lake or Bishop Pass - you cannot go match the beauty
