I was just out for a hike, and turned around at switchback #23. There is still a fair amount of snow from that recent storm, but it is fine for walking--at least during the day. The return of warm weather should make short work of it.
From the people I talked to who were on their way out, most had gone to Trail Crest via the switchbacks; a handful tackled the slope, but it was tedious. For the descent I guessed that about half are using the switchbacks and half the slope.
Reports are that what snow remains on the switchbacks is of little concern. Nice tracks to follow in. A little icy in the morning.
A few pictures.
