we have a group of of 9 (5 first timers) coming up from cottonwood pass on June 21-24. any information will be appreciated.

Here is a photo of Guitar Lake on June 1st. I expect by the time you hike it there will be very little snow between Guitar and Cottonwood Pass. The trail up to trail crest should be in good shape by that time too and no need for ice tools.
