You can rent them at the Lone Pine Sports store. You can't miss it in town. Most people are summiting without these now. When are going to climb?

we are day hiking on june 14th sat. via the main trail !

I am going main trail June 22-23... have crampons rented from REI.. waiting until late next week to decide whether to cancel or bring them to Portal..

We rented ours from Lone Pine Sporting Goods(760-876-5365). REI and Adventure 16 in San Diego no longer rent crampons or ice axes due to liability concerns. I believe the owner's name is Lee. Since we were coming off the mountain late Monday night, he said we could drop them off at the Chevron station, which we did. I called Tuesday to make sure they got back to Lee and they did, so it was very convenient.
